Beautiful Sonoma County

Roughly 19 acres in wine country California... land owned and untouched for three decades on my husband's side of the family. So my husband suggests we build a house, farm the land and live off the grid.

If you have ever visited Sonoma, California, you are familiar with the rolling green hills lined with rows and rows of grapevines. Being native to Los Angeles, Sonoma County is a heavenly green sight compared to the browns and tans of the arid desert climate of Southern California. My mind swirled in dreams of a custom home (sometimes Mediterranean, sometimes Spanish, sometimes gothic castle...) on a hill top surrounded by lushous green foliage of anything I could get to grow and fruit; a life at a slower pace in an area that supports the organic, green and sustainable lifestyle.

Alas, this is where the dream starts to crash:

We don't have the money to build this vision.

Not in one fell swoop, anyway.

This blog will chronicle our trials, tribulations and triumphs as my husband and I slowly labor toward our American dream.
